Everybody ready to vote tomorrow?! Or did you get
your early-voting ballot in already? Either way, there’s
no doubt that almost everyone is going to be glued
to the TV tomorrow night for the election coverage.
Each channel will have its own host and way about
broadcasting the fanfare. ABC, CBS and NBC will
broadcast live beginning at 7 p.m. until the wee
hours of the morning, if it comes to that. Katie Couric
will extend “CBS Evening News,” which starts at 6:30,
straight into the election coverage. ABC will stream
primetime content live from its broadband digital
channel hosted by Sam Donaldson. And BBC will
combine with BBC America, broadcasting to more
than 200 countries worldwide hosted by Ted Koppel.
In anecdotal but related news, I think I accidentally gave $2 to the McCain
campaign last week. I purchased a button from a 7-Eleven that has a picture
of Barack and Michelle Obama with a caption that read “America’s Next First
Couple?”
Thinking I’d show my support, I bought one (plus the photo was of a cheesyhilarious
quality), but upon further inspection of the button while waiting for my
train, I was taken aback by the question mark at the end of the tagline, and the
fact that the photo was displayed on a red background. I thought, “Maybe the
red background is just to match Michelle’s dress?”
Then I remembered that the 7-Eleven only had McCain coffee cups and no
Obama cups. I thought they had just run out. Now I’m thinking I inadvertently
gave McCain/Palin two of my hard-earned dollars at a Republican convenience
store!
Woops. Sorry everybody. Go JoeBama!
