PLUTO TAPS EDELMAN TO LEAD NEW SALES DRIVE
Pluto has hired Celeste Edelman as
Director of Sales and Marketing. The
move is part of a new effort by the
company to attract more work from
Detroit-area advertising agencies, and
to gain a foothold in other markets
around the country.
Edelman brings broad experience in ad
industry sales to Pluto, including an eightyear
stint at Ringside Creative. “Celeste
impressed us with her knowledge of
the business and her excellent contacts
in the advertising community, locally and nationally,” said Pluto
creative director Dave Corbett.
Corbett added that Pluto plans a more active sales effort and
is especially eager to reach out to agencies outside Detroit.
As a mid-sized creative services provider, the company offers
a combination of robust resources and an intimate creative
environment that many agencies find attractive. Pluto’s aim, said
Corbett, is to diversify, but not necessarily to grow. “We want to
remain a tight knit shop that does great work,” he insisted.
Edelman sees enormous potential for Pluto and believes it will
benefit greatly from wider exposure. “It is a special place,” she
said. “This company was originally a creatively focused design
shop, and while it has developed into a well-rounded resource, it
has retained its creative roots.”

DIRECTOR DANIEL GARCIA JOINS VITAMIN
Director/designer Daniel Garcia has joined the production studio
vitamin. Garcia has earned high praise for his unconventional
artistic approach and facility in working with a variety of media,
including live action, Flash animation, stop motion, print and still
photography.
Daniel Garcia’s arrival is part of a new effort by vitamin to grow
its creative team and extend the scope of its work, especially in
live-action and new and emerging forms of media. “We set out to
find a kindred spirit, someone who shares our love for telling simple
stories in unique ways,” said vitamin Director Ryan Dunn. “Danny
embodies that persona perfectly. He’s a great fit, and we’re happy
to have him.”
For his part, Garcia said that he was attracted by vitamin’s strong
reputation in advertising and impressed with the depth of its
production and post production resources. “I love the work that
vitamin has done for Nike, McDonald’s, Budweiser and others,”
he said. “I would like to focus more attention on commercials,
and would like to have more opportunities to apply the visual
techniques I have developed to advertising.” Garcia added that
he also hopes to do more work in interactive and environmental
media.
