FACE THE MUSIC AND ATTIK DECLARE UNITY FOR SCION
Face the Music (NY/LA) recently completed music
and sound design on a new spot for Scion called
“Declaration” out of agency ATTIK (San Fran). Shot in
the Nevada deserts, the spot opens with one lone
Scion driving down a winding road. More cars join the
first, and soon an entire caravan of different colors and styles of Scions are racing through the desert.
A POLITICAL COMMERCIAL THAT
DOES NOT GO ON THE ATTACK
Come nightfall, the group of cars rally around an MC, who addresses the crowd – “Here we are.
We’ve got XBs and TCs, XDs and XAs. Performance models, rims, custom paint. It is that which makes
us different that brings us together!” The spot closes with the tagline “United by Individuality.”

Most political
advertising
follows one of
two standard
formulas – pairing
B-roll footage of the
respective candidate
with a generic message,
or B-roll footage coupled
with a vicious personal
attack on the candidate’s
character.
On September 5th, a new
commercial began airing.
Instead of the typical
approaches, the concept of
this commercial is focused
on the vision of Americans
who had the courage and
resilience to be the first to
succeed against staggering
odds.
“The objective is to motivate
as many people to vote as possible on November 4th.
We believe that by inviting voters to participate in
a historical movement, it gives them an additional
reason to cast their ballot.” said Tom Ungar, Creative
Director of The Ungar Group (Chicago).
Director Rupert
Wainwright of Saville
Productions offers up a darkly
amusing campaign for the NHTSA
targeting drunken motorcyclists.
Entitled “Drunk Motorbike,” the
commercial is a follow-up to the very
successful drunk driving campaign
Wainwright directed in 2006.
The commercial was
commissioned by Tennessee
agency Tombras Group, and
was shot in one night in Los
Angeles. The commercials
emphasize the fact
that random patrols
and roadblocks may
now not only be more
commonplace but also
later in the evening, and
so drunken motorcycle
drivers will be easier to
pick out.
WAINWRIGHT TAKES ON DRUNK DRIVERS
Wainwright was delighted
to be involved with the
campaign. “The agency
was great and open to
all different ideas, and we
were all addressing a very
serious issue. Hopefully this campaign will make more people
aware of the risks and lower that number substantially.”
