“MR. BACH COMES TO CALL” FILM NOMINATED FOR TWO
EMMY AWARDS
The latest film from The Children’s
Group, “Mr. Bach Comes to Call”,
has earned two Emmy Award
nominations (Mid-Atlantic region):
one in the Children/Youth/Teen
Program or Special category
and the other for Director Maria
Erades (GreenTreks Network).
Based on the award-winning
and best-selling “Classical Kids”
recording, “Mr. Bach Comes to
Call” captures a special friendship
between a great composer and
a young girl. After the dramatic send-off of Bach’s music
into space aboard the Voyager II, Mr. Bach unexpectedly
arrives at the house of Elizabeth, a present-day child who is
awkwardly practicing Bach’s famous “Minuet in G.”
The 54 minute live-action drama is based in part on historical
fact and features more than twenty beautifully-performed
excerpts of Bach’s best-loved works by The Bach Choir of
Bethlehem and Bach Festival Orchestra. “Mr. Bach Comes
to Call,” a co-production of Classical Kids, The Bach Choir
of Bethlehem, GreenTreks Network and Touchstone Theatre,
was released on DVD on Apr. 24, 2007 to critical acclaim.

MINNEAPOLIS-BASED PUNY DRAWS GREAT GIG: SEASON
TWO OF NICKELODEON’S “YO GABBA GABBA!”
PUNY is about to go big time with the pre-school set.
The Minneapolis-based interactive, animation, and design
company has once again been tapped to provide design
and animation to Nickelodeon’s critically acclaimed
preschool music series “Yo Gabba Gabba!” The smash
hit live-action magazine show, embarking on its second
season, was one of 2007’s top-rated programs among
pre-schoolers, and has already gained a substantial cult
following among sans-toddler twentysomethings as well.
PUNY’s creative contributions to the show’s debut season
have earned them an expanded role in “Gabba-land” for
2008.
Nominated for an Emmy, Television Critics Association
award, and named one of the “Top Ten New TV Shows”
of 2007 by Time Magazine; “Yo Gabba Gabba!” provides
PUNY with a respected forum for their work. The program
features original animation, life-size and larger-than-life
characters, eclectic music, and special guest appearances.
“Christian Jacobs and Scott Schultz created this amazing
show and created a dream job for us,” said Shad Petosky,
PUNY’s President and Creative Director. In addition to once
again producing a variety of animated segments for the
TV series, PUNY has been entrusted to meet the challenge
of translating the eye-popping fun and excitement of “Yo
Gabba Gabba!” to the web, as they design and re-launch
an all new YoGabbaGabba.com for the fall.
