A native of Holland, Mikon Van Gastel is New Yorkbased
creative director and co-founder of AVSO (A Very
Small Office). Van Gastel’s explorations in layering and
interconnecting storytelling elements into architecture, film
and motion have most recently resulted in the design of
the electronic signage for the new Museum of Modern
Art in New York, seamlessly merging art, architecture and
information. Van Gastel’s work has been recognized by
the American Institute of Graphic Arts, AICP, BDA, the Type
Directors Club of New York and by publications including
“The New York Times,” “Creative Review” and “The New
Yorker.” His work is part of the permanent collection in New
York’s Museum of Modern Art.
Recent campaigns include Target Electronics and Target
Holiday (airing in November) via agency Peterson Milla
Hooks.
Vincent Haycock is a director of commercials and
music videos. Haycock’s understanding of design, visual
effects and film led him to a series of early directing
accomplishments, most notably an Emmy nomination for the
direction of “Nip/Tuck’s” main title sequence. Since then, he
has been consistently creating new and unique visions for
both commercials and music videos. Recent commercials
include, among others, spots for Sony, Budweiser, Nike and
Infiniti.
Haycock’s video work has earned distinction as well,
with this year’s music video for Editors’ “Racing Rats”
nominated alongside Michel Gondry for best direction
for an international video by the MVPA. Haycock is also
co-owner and visual curator for Debonair Social Club in
Chicago, a multi-media nightclub that features his short
films.
Since the beginning of 2001, Paul Schneider has served as
Creative Director of Digital Kitchen (Chicago), where he
directed and creative-directed a wide array of projects
including a successful span of commercials for Budweiser,
Nokia and Target, as well as a number of entertainment
projects, directing and developing promo material and title
design for broadcast and film.
Later co-founding WIDEOPENSPACES in downtown Los
Angeles, Schneider’s creative solutions for clients such
as Saatchi & Saatchi, Rossignol, Toyota, the Pasadena
Museum of California Art and CBS earned multiple industry
accolades.
Receiving his undergraduate degree at the Center for
Creative Studies, Detroit and an MFA at the renowned
Cranbrook Design program, Schneider has served as an
educator at the ECAL design program in Switzerland as well
as Fabrica in Italy. His most recent academic post was on
the faculty of the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena,
Calif.
Recent campaigns include Pearl River Resorts via Titan and
Independence Blue Cross via Tierney Communications.
