Prior to his post at RCB Media, Inc., Blocki was a vice
president, director, for healthcare and pharmaceutical
advertising agency Abelson Taylor. He directed the agency’s
newly formed direct-to-consumer and direct-to-patient
marketing division for multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical,
healthcare, medical implants, medical devices and overthe-counter
brands.
Before taking on his leadership role at Abelson-Taylor, Blocki
owned his own advertising and public relations agency. R.
Blocki & Associates, Inc. and provided integrated marketing,
creative, media, online, e-commerce, public relations and
promotional services for clients. During this time, he created
consumer and b-to-b campaigns for a variety of brands
including Abbott, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Kellogg’s, Miller
Beer, Sony, Illinois Tourism, Illinois Lottery and Takeda
Pharmaceuticals. Blocki has also worked for the State
of Illinois Bureau of Tourism as its marketing director. He
started his career at Leo Burnett working in both media and
account management.
Blocki is a published author, creating a diverse array of work
including articles in major marketing journals, as well as
children’s books, such as “Sweet Dreams.” Blocki has also
been a keynote speaker at various marketing and tourism
industry conferences.
Blocki received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Augustana
College and his Master of Science degree from the University
of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
DRAFTFCB CHICAGO HIRES DAN ZIGULICH AS EXECUTIVE VP,
DIRECTOR OF CREATIVE PRODUCTION
Draftfcb Chicago announced that it has further strengthened
its creative leadership team with the hiring of Dan ‘Ziggy’
Zigulich as executive vice president, director of creative
production services. Ziggy, who officially joined the agency
August 4, will be responsible for leading all of the broadcast
production, print production and studio efforts, reporting to
Chief Creative Officer Rob Sherlock, and working closely
with Executive Creative Director Kathy Bucaro-Zobens.
Zigulich worked at FCB for almost 17 years before leaving
the agency in 1998 to run his own successful company, Z
Group Films. During his tenure at Z Group, he also launched
El Grupo Z, a Hispanic film company that targeted domestic
Hispanic agencies. He was recruited for this new position
because of his advanced skill set, strong connections in the
production world and for his unique personality and style.
“We are excited, and lucky, to have Ziggy back as a
member of the creative leadership team,” said Sherlock.
“He is a fantastic leader whose down-to-earth smarts,
work ethic and sense of humor will allow him to make an
immediate impact and provide a strong voice for creative
production throughout the agency.”
