SCHAFER CONDON CARTER ACQUIRES ROMANI BROS
Tim Condon, managing partner of Schafer Condon
Carter (SCC), a leading privately-held, integrated services
marketing agency, announced that it has acquired Romani
Bros., an independent Chicago-based advertising agency.
Financial details were not disclosed.
“SCC and Romani Bros. both share an incredible passion
for smart, entrepreneurial creative ideas that drive brands.”
says Condon. “This addition will provide our clients with
an even deeper bench of creative brand stewards to
complement our fully-integrated service offerings including
advertising, online marketing, public relations and events.”
The acquisition comes as SCC enters its 20th year of
consecutive growth as a integrated agency. The agency’s
wholly owned network includes SCC|Grossman Public
Relations, SCC|New Media and Gravitas Sponsorships &
Event Marketing. SCC’s expanding client roster includes
Brunswick Corp., General Mills, McCain Foods, ConAgra,
Solo Cup and National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. In
July, SCC was named agency of record for Garvey’s Office
Products and GoodFoods Group.
Romani Bros. clients include Peoples Gas, Rotary
International, National PTA, Ryerson, EAA, JSSI and Tri-Land
Properties. The agency’s employees and operations will be
fully integrated into SCC’s offices in Chicago. Romani Bros.
founders and partners Bernie Pitzel and Denny Hebson will
become creative directors at SCC with current SCC CD’s
Suzanne Martineau and Ron Sone.

Best known for his famous “Be Like Mike” work for Gatorade,
Pitzel enjoyed top creative stints at Leo Burnett, FCB, Young
& Rubicam, and Bayer Bess Vanderwarker before cofounding
Romani Bros. in 2003 with Hebson. Hebson has
created award winning consumer and B2B campaigns for
clients such as Iams Pet Foods, Caterpillar and BP Amoco.

EURO RSCG CHICAGO HIRES RICHARD BLOCKI AS GROUP
ACCOUNT DIRECTOR
Continuing the momentum that has resulted in a twoyear
growth streak for the agency, Euro RSCG Chicago
has tapped Richard Blocki as group account director,
effective immediately. In this newly created position, Blocki
will oversee client relationships and campaign strategy for
several Euro RSCG Chicago clients including EFFEN Vodka
parent company Constellation Spirits, as well as building
the Chicago agency’s direct-to-consumer and directto-patient
healthcare unit. Richard will report directly
to Managing Director Suzanne Lord-Rossi for all CPG
clients and Euro RSCG Chicago President and CEO/North
American COO Ron Bess for all healthcare business. Blocki,
47 years old, previously served as a partner for RCB Media,
Inc, in Chicago.
