Sadly, as this issue goes to print, summer is drawing to
a close. There is an ever-so-slight nip in the morning air
which sets off my allergies, warning that cooler days
are upon us - hopefully not too soon, though, as the
days are still HOT here in Chicago and the sun, though
setting a bit earlier, still shines on right through happy
hour.
In this issue, we celebrate Kansas City-based Wheeler
Audio’s 21st birthday - a milestone that I’m sure we all
remember fondly. We also include a second music/
sound design feature - a pretty heavy-duty number
overflowing with juicy company news. And thus
concludes our second-to-last music/sound designfocused
issue for 2008. How time flies!
Of course, we still have our regular audio-centered column “Jam Session” in
every issue, so there are plenty of opportunities to get your company/track/side
project/library/etc. included in SCREEN. So please keep sending us new work and
exciting news related to this and the other major topics we cover - production,
post and agency news. We love to hear about everything that’s going on with
our clients, contacts and friends in the industry.
On a final note (pun slightly intended), I know I mentioned this in a previous
column, but Schmooze 2008 is right around the corner - September 25 to be
exact – so get your tickets if you haven’t already and start resting up for one of
the biggest and best industry parties of the summer - hosted by your favorite
Midwest-based magazine staff :) We can’t wait to see you at Excalibur in a few
weeks!
