Senior Creative Director Of Advertising Markets

been promoted to the position of Senior Creative Director
of Advertising Markets. He will also continue in his role as
Executive Producer for the division.
Currier, who has been with peermusic since 2000, heads
up peer’s successful advertising markets division, dubbed
peercommercialmusic. Under his guidance, the division
has enjoyed an impressive growth rate and positioned
the company as a “go to” resource for music for major
advertising agencies worldwide. peercommercialmusic
has provided music for hundreds of national spots, including
Pontiac, Visa, Delta, GM, Kohl’s and Covergirl. GE’s global
branding initiative, which was nominated for an Emmy,
utilized the Donovan classic, “Catch the Wind.”
In his new role, Currier will continue to oversee all
aspects of peermusic’s advertising markets division,
peercommercialmusic, and will now be responsible for
negotiating all U.S. commercial projects.

Independent rep Nikki Weiss of Nikki Weiss & Co. has
signed Pony Show Entertainment for exclusive Midwest
representation. This reunites Weiss with executive producers

Visual Effects Society Publishes First White Paper
The Visual Effects Society (VES), the entertainment industry’s
only official organization representing the extended
community of visual effects professionals, has published its
first ever white paper, titled “The State of Visual Effects in the
Entertainment Industry.” The document examines existing
conditions within the visual effects industry and how these
issues affect the entertainment business on a macro scale,
from workflow to the interaction of personnel within various
departments and the extraordinary impacts that the digital
revolution has caused.
“We feel that we have a unique perspective as to how the
work of visual artists and technologists intersect to have a
huge impact on the business model bottom line,” said VES
Executive Director Eric Roth. “We are very excited to publish
this first paper, which will serve as a foundation for future
white papers delving into significant issues which face not

Doorpost Film Project Awards $10,000 To Top 15 Finalists
The Doorpost Film Project, a short filmmaking contest aimed
at discovering and developing filmmakers capable of
producing films that inspire and influence, has announced
