Animal Goes “Beatnik” To Sheetz Bros. Coffeez
Visual effects studio Animal (Pittsburgh) recently produced two 30-second spots
for Pittsburgh agency Smith Brothers and client Sheetz Convenience Stores. The
spots, directed by Animal’s Michael Killen and shot with the RED camera, are part
of a fully integrated marketing campaign to launch Sheetz Bros. Coffeez. Animal
collaborated with Smith Brothers writer Cathy Bowen to recreate an authentic ‘50s
- era beatnik coffeehouse. The spots
feature a couple of “cool cats”
performing poetic tributes to Sheetz
Bros. Coffeez in a dark, smoky room
in front of a hip audience.
Client: Sheetz Convenience Stores.
VP of Marketing: Louie Sheetz.

superstudio Director Johannes
Gamble Brings “Limey” To Life
Director Johannes Gamble of superstudio
(Santa Monica, Calif.) recently partnered with
ad agency DDB Chicago on a viral campaign
for summer’s newest beer, Bud Light Lime.
Created for YouTube consumption, the spots
introduce Limey, Anheuser-Busch’s new Bud
Light Lime mascot, who does stunts and
features the tagline, “It’s amazing what a
little lime can do.” In “Coasters,” the lifeof-the-party
lime juices up a house bash,
courtesy of some card-throwing magic.
From whirling boomerang action to a round
of coaster darts to hamburger adornment,
Limey wows the crowd with a flick of his
wrist. The other two virals, “Skateboard”
and “Breakdance,” follow a similar premise
with Limey working his smooth moves.
