Verson. Kaplan agrees: “This move is
a natural progression for the studio.
We’ll be more accessible to a greater
number of clients, and since the new
facility is located directly across the
street from our former address, clients
won’t have far to travel to work with
us. In fact, our Leo Burnett clients can
access our studio via the pedway that
connects the two buildings. It’s really
the best of both worlds.”
APG is a partnership between David
Kaplan and Mindy Verson. Together
they formed a dynamic independent
audio production team in the spring of
2004. Verson and Kaplan each started
in the advertising community over
15 years ago working as producers
for various studios throughout their
respective careers. APG is located in
the heart of downtown Chicago, at
200 N. Dearborn St. Suite 2705 Chicago,

Cordovan Music FUELs Up
For A Busy Schedule
Greg Reeves of Cordovan Music
(Glendale, Calif.) just wrapped up a
new custom library of tracks for action
sports and lifestyle focused FUEL TV, his
third such library for the client. This is
becoming an increasingly efficient and
cost-effective approach, perhaps more
so now than ever, considering the sea
of music libraries and search engines
available these days, according to
Reeves. FUEL has a certain range of
specific music needs, and this way,
the client has a library of tracks to pull
from quickly that were created just for
them, without having to wade through
endless tracks that aren’t a good fit.
Reeves has also created custom music
libraries for Sears, MTV and Converse
in the past.
Other current happenings worth
mentioning, according to Reeves,
include new music for 24HR Fitness
and its new Derek Jeter Gym opening
in New York City; new music for promos

for a new A&E reality series that is
currently in the works; and music for
a Blue Shield anti-violence interactive
project for inner city kids also in the
works. All this, plus a recent update of
over 200 tracks to Cordovan’s online
music library. The update covers a
range of genres, from indie acoustic to
glitch to orchestral and beyond.
“The library [project] for FUEL is a real
trend I think,” says Reeves. “It’s almost
as if there’s so much out there to sift
through now – so many music libraries.
It’s overwhelming, and if there is a
certain need to fill, it’s faster to have
a customized library created to pick
from, especially since it’s more critical
than ever for the production values
and vibe to be current and convincing
for any kind of youth audience.”

that, as far as I know, all of the rooms in

how the mix sounds they have to come
around to where the operator sits and
lean their head in. But in here we have
