BOB TEITEL AND GEORGE TILLMAN
of State Street Pictures will produce the family
dramedy “Humboldt Park,” starring John
Leguizamo and Freddy Rodriguez. Production
is set to begin on or around January 30 in, you
guessed it, Humboldt Park. Alfredo De Villa
(“Washington Heights”) will direct. Overture
Films, a unit of Starz, has signed on to produce
and distribute the film. Let’s hear it for our
Chicago boys Bob and George bringing films
back home where they belong!
DENNIS QUAID IS BACK IN TOWN
with “The Horsemen,” which will shoot in
Chicago for a week in January. A recently
widowed detective still grieving over his wife’s
death discovers a shocking connection between
himself and the suspects in a serial killing spree
linked to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
Jonas Akerlun (“Spun”) directs.
TIC TOCK READY TO ROCK IN
MICHIGAN. Holland native (and Waterfront
Film Festival founder) Hopwood DePree (“The
Last Big Attraction”) and his new production
company Tic Tock Studios will be shooting the
romantic comedy “Tug” this spring. A small
town Michigan guy’s life begins to hilariously
unravel as he is torn between staying with his
current, lovely girlfriend or bouncing back to
his psycho ex. More info about this and other

IT’S A “BLUE WORLD” but a good world
for Michael Nehs and Frontsight Productions.
They are set to begin filming in February. The
dark thriller is being packaged by ICM. Charley
Rivkin directs this script, written by Rivkin and

CHECKING IN WITH MILWAUKEE. A
new show for the Travel Channel, “The Feasty
Boys Eat the World,” just shot in Milwaukee,
Sheboygan, and Green Bay, Wisc. Folks are
anxiously awaiting word on whether the NBC
pilot “The Watch” (a.k.a. “Backyards & Bullets”)
will be picked up. As I mentioned earlier this
year, this series would star Lou Diamond Phillips
and would be directed by Charles McDougall of
“Desperate Housewives” fame. A couple bigbudget
studio flicks are scouting Wisconsin as
well, and I’ll have more news for you in 2008!
