Unprecedented Mobilization Campaign To Solve Climate Crisis
The Alliance for Climate Protection (Palo Alto, Calif.) launched a multiyear,
multi-faceted campaign designed to engage the American public
and ignite a movement to address one of the most important issues facing
civilization: solving the climate crisis. By broadly shifting public opinion to move
past a ‘tipping point,’ the Alliance’s “We” campaign will help embolden leaders
to offer genuinely effective policies, programs and laws that will sharply reduce
emissions of CO2 and other greenhouse gas pollutants. The Alliance’s three-year,
commercial-scale campaign will fund an aggressive and innovative online activation
and mobilization program supported by nationwide television, print, radio and online
advertising all geared towards engaging 10 million supporters to drive policy change.

Trio Of Animated :30s For
Efficiency Vermont And KSV
Make The Case For Green Energy
Multi-disciplinary creative studio Thornberg & Forester
(New York) recently completed a series of animated
30-second spots for Efficiency Vermont, a nonprofit
organization providing energy-saving advice to households
and businesses across the state. The campaign, created
through Kelliher Samets Volk (Vt., Mass., NY), introduces Jessie
“Fewer” Watts, a compact fluorescent light bulb-as-hero
character who saves the day (and energy) in a series of humorous
vignettes. T&F creative director Scott Matz used his creative
cunning to invoke a visually compelling CGI Wild West environment
for each spot while underscoring the green message. Working
with the team at Thornberg
& Forester on this project
was a great collaborative
and creative experience,
says KSV producer Tamara
Jones. “The skills and talent
they brought to the project
helped us to realize our
creative vision in a way
that continues to earn our
client accolades.”

Director Gets Kids To
Talk Germs In New Dixie Ad
“You should not share your germs, just share
your toys,” is the way one young boy succinctly
sums up the problem of hygiene in a delightful
new spot for Dixie directed by STORY’s (Chicago)
Bob Ebel. “Our approach to working with kids has a
history of selling,” Ebel says. “Consumers connect
to the honesty of our kids.” Letting kids be kids
sounds like a simple formula, but to pull it off as
Ebel does for Dixie requires a master’s touch. “We
worked hard to find great characters to deliver
the Dixie story in a simple and heartfelt way,” he
says. “That’s why this spot is different from most.”
