Fashionistador, Vegas Virgin, Spotlight Stealer, Weekend MVP
and Massageoholic (or users can “build their own” badge).
Each pre-designed badge features a unique set of
challenges and requires different skill levels, from easy to
difficult, as well as suggestions on Vegas hot spots where
one can hone their
skills. Users can
then save badge
data and share
it among their
own network of
friends via email,
a site-generated
personal web
page or by
posting a banner
that contains an automated updating feed on their own
webpage or existing social networking space. The launch of
the site tied into the release of the new gambling-centered
film “21” starring Kevin Spacey.
“The premise of ‘Your Vegas is Showing’ is that visitors can
assume any identity once they step off that airplane, and
this new site hits that concept out of the park,” said Sean
Corbett, director of digital marketing for R&R Partners.
“eatdrink instinctively knew how important it is to leverage
the social relationships among people and how to affect
online word-of-mouth and reputation management. The
creative execution is not only visually and technically cool,
it also creates meaningful connections between people
and this town in a unique and compelling way.”
To further bolster the Las Vegas brand, eatdrink also
created animated broadcast tags for the same client to be
used to promote Vegas during music-related broadcasts,
ie: “Last Call with Carson Daly.” The tags have been airing
before and after musical guests perform and are meant to
associate musical entertainment with Sin City, according to
eatdrink executive producer Chad Hutson.

Los Angeles-based SWAY, an animation, effects and design
studio, recently completed work on a two-spot campaign for
the 2008 Pontiac G8 meant to appeal to viewers’ nostalgia
for action-packed enterprises such as Hot Wheels and the
“Spy Hunter” video game. Currently airing nationwide, the
two :30-spots, “Spy Hunter” and “Mine” - created for Leo
Burnett, Detroit – were completed using SWAY’s photo-real
lighting techniques as well as its secret weapon, the Drivea-Tron™
driving simulator.
“Spy Hunter” opens with the 1983 Bally Midway arcade
game’s vintage graphics and addictive theme music. Under
attack by a Switchblade vehicle wielding wheel-mounted
tire slashers, the beloved G-6155 Interceptor is destroyed
by the Mad Bomber helicopter. As the red truck pulls up to
replace the hero car, a seamlessly integrated photo-real
Pontiac G8 appears, races down the ramp and takes off
swerving around dropping bombs and out-maneuvering
enemy cars, leaving its nemeses in its dust.
