Bad-ass Brit Sean Bean (“Lord of the
Rings,” “The Hitcher”) stars in “The Cache,”
an indie thriller filming in Chicago Sept. 6
through mid-Oct. Steve Anderson (“South
Central”) will direct, Christina Varotsis is on
board as production manager and Billy Higgins
is line producer; Tenner Paskal Rudnicke will
cast the film. “The Cache” follows a man
who involuntarily brings a couple of kids into
his unlawful operations; you can send crew

Still “Wanted”: The Angelina Jolie thriller
will stick around an extra week for some second
unit filming, through Aug. 25. “Batman”…er,
“Rory’s First Kiss”…wraps Sept. 15 after a nice
long run here in town.
Back to the Emergency Room: “ER” will
be back in Chicago Sept. 20-22.
“The Untouchables: Capone Rising”
might make its way through Chicago at some
point, or so I’m told. This prequel to the 1987
epic will also be directed by Brian DePalma and
will begin principal photography in Oct. No
word yet as to when the film will be in Chicago
or for how long. Gerard Butler (“300”) is
cast and Nicolas Cage was set to play a young
Capone, but now is not because of “scheduling
conflicts.” Typical. I’ll keep you posted!
Kartemquin Films is humming with six films
in progress. Kartemquin’s latest documentary,
“Terra Incognita,” is set to premiere at this
fall’s DocNZ documentary film festival in New
Zealand. “Milking the Rhino” and producer/
director David Simpson just returned from a
third and final shooting trip to Africa and are
aiming for a spring completion date. For more

“The Beekeeper” will be shooting in
Woodstock, Ill. Aug. 29 – Sept. 2. This family
drama will be directed by Sean Jourdan (“An
Open Door”) and produced by Amy Rising
(“Kubuku Rides: This Is It”). Interested crew can
